103 of 1997

The Public Funding of Represented Political Parties Act 103 of 1997 intends:

  • to establish the Represented Political Parties' Fund with a view to making provision for the funding of political parties participating in Parliament and provincial legislatures;
  • to provide for the management of that Fund by the Electoral Commission and for accountability regarding that Fund;
  • to regulate the allocation of moneys from that Fund and the purposes for which allocated moneys may be used by political parties; and
  • to provide for incidental matters.

  • 1 April 1998 (Gazette 19142 of 14 August 1998)
  • 21 February 1997, Section 30(3)(a) and (c) (Gazette 17817 of 21 February 1997)
