Provincial Powers Amendment Act, 1984 (No. 90 of 1984)

BE IT ENACTED by the State President and the House of Assembly of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-

Amendment of section 1 of Act 32 of 1980.

1. Section 1 of the Provincial Powers Extension Act, 1980, is hereby amended by the substitution for subsection (2) of the following subsection:

"(2) Subject to. the provisions of subsection (3), any pension [or gratuity] referred to in subsection (1) shall not exceed an amount which, if calculated over a period of 12 months, is equal to the highest amount that was payable in respect of any year during the period of office of the member concerned, to that member under sections 74 and 76 of the Republic of South Africa Constitution Act, 1961 (Act No. 32 of 1961).".

Short title.

2. This Act shall be called the Provincial Powers Amendment Act, 1984.
