The Protection of Animals Amendment Act 7 of 1991 intends:
- to amend the Performing Animals Protection Act, 1935, so as
- to extend the provisions of the Act to include dogs used for safeguarding;
- to review the fines that may be imposed in respect of offences; and
- to exclude the territory of South West Africa from the application of the Act;
- to amend the Animals Protection Act, 1962, so as
- to further define and extend actions constituting offences;
- to review the fines that may be imposed in respect of offences; and
- to exclude the territory of South West Africa from the application of the Act; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
