Prevention of Public Violence and  Intimidation Amendment Act, 1992 (No. 50 of 1992)

BE IT ENACTED by the State President and the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:—

Amendment of section 4 of Act 139 of 1991

1. Section 4 of the Prevention of Public Violence and Intimidation Act, 1991, is hereby amended by the substitution for paragraphs (b) and (c) of the following paragraphs:

‘‘(b) A committee shall consist of such number of persons [, but not less than three,] as may be determined by the Commission [, and of whom at least one shall be a member of the Commission].

(c) The Commission shall designate a member of a committee [who is also a member of the Commission,] as chairman of the committee.”’.

Short title

2. This Act shall be called the Prevention of Public Violence and Intimidation Amendment Act, 1992.
