The Police and Prisons Officers Pay Act 30 of 1939 intends:
- to declare the date as from which certain new scales of pay became applicable to members of the South African Police, subordinate officers of the Prisons Department of the Union and members of the South West Africa Police, and
- to validate the method by which the said scales of pay were applied to persons then serving.
