69 of 1985

The Pharmacy Amendment Act 69 of 1985 intends:

  • to amend the Pharmacy Act, 1974, so as
    • to change the name of the South African Pharmacy Board to the South African Pharmacy Council and to alter the constitution of that body; 
    • to provide for close corporations to carry on business as pharmacists and for the recognition by the South African Pharmacy Council of qualifications for registration as a pharmacist's assistant, as well as certain additional qualifications acquired by pharmacists; and
    • to provide· for the payment of annual fees by pharmacies to be determined by regulation and to validate certain regulations; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
