26 of 1977

The Pension Laws Amendment Act 26 of 1977 intends:

  • to amend the Military Pensions Act, 1976, so as:
    • further to define "parent";
    • to provide for the payment of additional benefits to and in respect of persons suffering from a pensionable disability;
    • to further regulate the payment of pensions;
    • to provide for certain medical treatment at the expense of the State; and
    • to further regulate appeals in terms of the said Act;
  • to amend the Government Service Pension Act, 1973 [repealed in 2011], so as:
    • to further regulate deductions from benefits payable under that Act;
    • to make certain provision as to the payment of benefits in terms of pension laws; and
    • to regulate the continuation of pension rights of persons leaving the service of the Armaments Board; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
