National War Fund Amendment Act, 1972 (No. 40 of 1972)

Act

  • to amend the National War Fund Act, 1970, in order to provide for certain amendments to certain title deeds, mortgage bonds, registers and documents; and
  • to provide for incidental matters.

Be it enacted by the State President, the Senate and the House of Assembly of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-

Insertion to section 1A in Act 81 of 1970.

1. The following section is hereby inserted in the National War Fund Act, 1970, after section 1: 

"Duties of certain registrars of deeds in respect of certain title deeds and mortgage bonds.

1A. (1) If a title deed of any immovable property registered in the name of the National War Fund (1939-1945) or if a mortgage bond registered in favour of the National War Fund (1939-1945), is submitted to the registrar of deeds or registrar of Rand townships concerned, such registrar shall substitute on such title deed or mortgage bond and in all the appropriate registers and documents in his custody, for the name National War Fund (1939-1945) the name National War Fund.

(2) No office fees, stamp duty or transfer duty shall be payable in respect of any substitution referred to in subsection (1).".

Short title.

2. This Act shall be called the National War Fund Amendment Act, 1972.
