The National Environmental Management Amendment Act 8 of 2004 intends:

to amend the National Environmental Management Act, 1998, so as:
- to insert certain definitions and substitute others;
- to make further provision regarding environmental authorisations;
- to make certain textual alterations; to provide for the registration of associations of environmental assessment practitioners; and
to provide for incidental matters.
