The repealed Integration of Usury Laws Act 57 of 1996 intended:
- to extend the application of the Usury Act, 1968 [repealed in June 2006],
- to the areas which constituted the national territories and territories of certain former states and self-governing territories;
- to repeal certain laws relating to usury which apply in some of the said territories; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
