The repealed Human Rights Commission Act 54 of 1994 intended:
- to regulate matters incidental to the establishment of the Human Rights Commission by the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1993; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
Commencement
- 15 September 1995 up to and including Sections 10, 14 and 15 (Gazette 16667 of 15 September 1995)
- 17 May 1996, Sections 5, 7 to 10, 14 and 15 (Gazette 17183 of 17 May 1996)
- 1 July 1997, Section 4 (Gazette 18108 of 27 June 1997)
