The Heraldry Act 18 of 1962 intends:
- to make provision
- for the establishment of a bureau of heraldry and a heraldry council;
- for the grant, registration and protection of coats or arms, badges and other emblems; and
- for other matters incidental thereto; and
- to amend the Protection of Names, Uniforms and Badges Act, 1935.
