The Environment Conservation Amendment Act 98 of 1991 intends:

  • to amend the Environment Conservation Act, 1989 [repealed in 2000], so as
  • to extend the definition of' 'local authority"; and
  • to provide that regulations which may affect the activities of any local authority or government institution shall only be made applicable within the area of jurisdiction of such local authority or government institution with its concurrence; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
