The Development Bank of Southern Africa Act 13 of 1997 intends:
- to provide for the continued existence, and reconstitution of the juristic person known as the Development Bank or Southern Africa as a development finance institution with the primary purpose to promote economic development and growth, human resource development and institutional capacity building by mobilising financial and other resources from the national or international private and public sectors for sustainable development projects and programmes; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
