50 of 1996

The Broadcasting Amendment Act 50 of 1996 intends:

  • to amend the Broadcasting Act, 1976 [repealed in 1999], so as
  • to reduce the membership of the Board of the South African Broadcasting Corporation;
  • to expressly provide that the Board only controls the affairs of the Corporation and that the Director-General manages those affairs;
  • to effect a correction in the English text; and
  • to provide for incidental matters.
