The Unemployment Insurance Amendment Act 61 of 1971 intends:

  • to amend the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1966 [repealed in 2002], in order :
    • to increase the maximum earnings in respect of which contributions are payable;
    • to empower the write-off of losses;
    • to increase the number of groups;
    • to prescribe the additional rates of beuefits and contributions payable; and
  • to provide for incidental matters.
