130 of 1992

The Unemployment Insurance Amendment Act 130 of 1992 intends:

  • to amend the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1966 [repealed in 2002], so as
  • to define or further define certain expressions;
  • to make the Act applicable to certain persons employed in agriculture;
  • to make certain provision regarding seasonal workers in agriculture;
  • to provide that the Director-General may raise loans from certain financial institutions;
  • to make further provision in connection with the payment of contributions by employers; to increase a penalty;
  • to make other conditions relating to the payment of adoption benefits;
  • to provide that the Minister may pay certain moneys from the unemployment insurance fund, and that the Director-General may without the approval of the Minister of Finance acquire and alienate immovable property after consultation with the unemployment insurance board;
  • to emend certain references; and
  • to grant extension oftime to employers in agriculture to comply with the provisions of the Act; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
