The South African Transport Services Amendment Act 11 of 1988 intends:

  • to amend section 9 of the South African Transport Services Act, 1981 [repealed in 1990], so as
  • to enable the South African Transport Services to transfer the control, management, maintenance and exploitation of any portion of the railway to another person;
  • to amend section 10 of the said Act so as to further define the acquisition of a railway; and
  • to provide for incidental matters.
