The Police Amendment Act 50 of 1980 intends:
- to amend certain provisions of the Police Act, 1958 [repealed in January 1995], so as to further regulate the powers and duties of members of the South African Police as well as the requirements for qualification as a member of the Police Reserve; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
