The Police Amendment Act 34 of 1973 intends:

  • to amend the provisions of the Police Act, 1958 [repealed in 1995], relating to definitions;
  • to provide for the discharge and dismissal of commissioned officers on account of ill-health; and
  • for the publication and display of certain photographs and sketches; 
  • to amend the provisions of the said Act relating to contraventions by members of the Force; and
  • to provide for incidental matters.
