36 of 1944

The Black Laws Amendment Act 36 of 1944 intends:

  • to amend
    • the Blacks (Urban Areas) Act, 1923 [Repealed in 1945],
    • the Blacks Taxation and Development Act, 1925 [Repealed in 1969],
    • the Black Administration Act, 1927 [Repealed in 2005],
    • the Black Service Contract Act, 1932 [Repealed in 1964 ], and
    • the Private Locations Act, 1909 (Cape of Good Hope);
  • to control the sale or supply of certain grain to, and the purchase, acquisition and possession thereof by black persons in areas near urban areas, and to make provision for the designation of certain local government bodies as urban local authorities for the purposes of certain provisions of Act No. 21 of 1923.
