The Department of Labour will kick off the first round of public consultations on Labour law amendments in Cape Town next week on Tuesday, 18 January 2011.
This process in necessitated by the need to solicit public comment on the recently published amendment bills for the Labour Relations Act (LRA), the Employment Equity Act (EEA), the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) as well as the new Employment Services Bill.
These bills were published on Friday, 17 December 2010 with the closing date for public comments set for 17 February 2011.
The consultations will take place as follows:
