The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning's Green Scorpion officials will, in collaboration with the City of Cape Town, conduct a compliance blitz inspection on 12 sites located on Harold Ashwell Boulevard, Melkbosstrand on Thursday, 1 July 2010 which is scheduled to commence at 09h30.
These beachfront residential property sites are characteristic of reported listed activities that contravene the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) regulations (listing notice 1 No R386) in terms of activities infringing on the shoreline and resulting in degradation of these environmentally sensitive areas.
