On Wednesday, 15 June 2011, the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, hosted World Elder Abuse Awareness Day at the Bonteheuwel Civic Centre. Rallying around The theme, My World...Your World,,,Our World - free of Elder Abuse approximately 100 elderly between the ages of 60 - 90 years were treated to a morning of fun which included a self-defence and aerobics workshop presented by officials of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport as well as pertinent information aimed at making our world free of elder abuse.
