The Department of Energy (DoE) cordially invites members of the media to the Independent Power Producers bidders (IPP) media briefing session scheduled for 7 December 2011. The department will announce the preferred bidders for the first phase of the procurement process at this briefing.
The department is glad to say that the long wait for the announcement is over, as the first phase of procurement process has been completed. At the end of August 2011 prospective bidders were invited to register on the http://www.ipp-renewables.co.za/ and to pay a non-refundable fee of R15 000 to be able to access the Request For Proposal (RFP) documentation. A successful bidders briefing session took place on the 14 September 2011.
Key messengers will include principals of the Department of Energy, the Director-General, Ms Nelisiwe Magubane as well as other senior managers.
