Current Positions


Mr Solomon Lechesa Tsenoli is the Deputy Speaker of National Assembly of the Republic of South Africa from 21 May 2014 and was re-appointed on 22 May 2019. 

Mr Tsenoli is the minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs of the Republic of South Africa from 10 July 2013.
 

Academic Qualifications

Mr Tsenoli attended a programme of instruction for Lawyers at Harvard University and obtained a Certificate in Public Policy Management from the University of Western Cape.

He holds a Certificate in adult Education from University of KwaZulu-Natal. He has a Certificate in Development Planning for Community Leaders from the University of the Witwatersrands.
 

Career/Positions/Memberships/Other Activities

He was a member of the following Organisations: Institutte of Local government; National Housing corporation; and Transitional National Development Trust.

Mr Tsenoli also served as a member of Joint Rent Action Committee in 1983; and as a member of Masibonesane Lamontville Youth Organisation in 1981. He was founder member of Sanco and as a member of Durban Civic Forum.

He was Deputy Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform of the Republic of South Africa from 2011 until 09-July 2013.
