Ms Nomusa Dube-Ncube was sworn in as the Deputy Minister for Higher Education on 22 July 2025.

She was previously the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal from 10 August 2022 to 18 June 2024. She held several provincial cabinet roles in KwaZulu‑Natal: MEC for Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs (2009–2019); MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (2019–2020); MEC for Finance (2020–2022).
