Academic Qualifications
Ms Mayende-Sibiya obtained Midwifery Graduate at King Edward Memorial Hospital in 1985 and Enrolled Nurse (E/N) Programme at McCord School of Nursing in 1983.

She became member of the African national Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) Polokwane in 2007 and before then she served as 2nd Deputy President of Nehawu National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) Durban from 1998 to 2004. She also worked as Chief Professional Nurse at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital eThekwini in 2007 and as Professional Nurse at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital eThekwini from 1985 to 2007.
