Current Positions

Mr Mduduzi Comfort Manana is the Deputy Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of South Africa from 12 June 2012. He is a member of Parliament of the Republic of South Africa since 2009 and he is also a member the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ANCYL (serving in the finance sub-committee) from 2008.
 

Academic Qualifications

Mr Manan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from University of Natal.
 

Career/Positions/Memberships/Other Activities

Mr Manana served as a member of Congress of South African Students (COSAS)and the ANC Youth League in 1998. He was a
Branch Chairperson of the ANCYL and YCL respectively in the Nombali Mkhwanazi Branch in 2005.

He was elected to the Regional Executive Committee (REC) of the ANCYL in the Gert Sibande Region in 2006 and served in the International Relations & Cooperation and Public Works portfolio committees and later was appointed a Whip of the Portfolio Committee on Transport and Public Service; Administration Portfolio Committee and Governance and Monitoring Cluster in 2011.

He was a Chairperson of the Steering Committee on Youth Parliament and Commissioner of the Magistrates Commission representing parliament and also chaired the Mpumalanga Judicial Committee on Lower Courts.
