Mr Jabulani Moleketi served as a Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of South Africa from 29 April 2004 until 2088 prior to his appointment as a Deputy Minister; He served as a member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Finance and Economic Affairs in Gauteng Provincial Government from 1994 until 2004.

Academic Qualifications

Mr Moleketi holds a Masters of Science degree in Financial Economics from University of London 2001 and obtained a Post-Graduate diploma in Economic Principles in 1996. He completed an Advanced Management Program (APM), Harvard Business School in Boston, United States of America (USA) in 2003. He matriculated at Musi High School in Pimville, Soweto in 1975.

Career/Positions/Memberships/Other Activities

Mr Moleketi joined the African National Congress (ANC) underground structures in 1975 and went into exile and became involved in ANC's military structures in 1976.While in exile he attended a Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) military academy from 1982 to 1983 and he attended a specialist military course in Cuba in 1989. He returned to South Africa following the unbanning of the ANC in 1991 and served in the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1997 until 2007. He chaired the board of the Public Investment Corporation and was responsible for Financial Services Board. He was also a member of the Local Organising Committee for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
