Mr Willem Abraham Stephanus (Willie) Aucamp was appointed as Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, a position he assumed on 17 November 2025.
Aucamp was elected to the National Assembly in 2024 after standing as a candidate on the Democratic Alliance’s national list. He was sworn in as a Member of Parliament on 25 June 2024. During his tenure in the National Assembly, he served as a DA Whip and was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture. He was also appointed as one of the party’s National Spokespersons.
Before joining the National Assembly, Aucamp represented the Northern Cape as one of its permanent delegates to the National Council of Provinces from 2019 to 2024.
Aucamp’s appointment to the National Executive reflects his ongoing contribution to the public service at both provincial and national levels.
