MEC Sithole-Moloi’s message of condolences on the passing of Dr Mnqobi Edwin Ngidi and Dr Mandla Buthelezi
The MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), Mrs Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi, has learnt with shock the news of the passing away of two of the agricultural sector leaders in the Province of KwaZulu Natal.
On behalf of the Department and herself, MEC Sithole-Moloi conveys her deepest condolences on the passing away of Dr. Mandla Buthelezi, a farmer and leader of the National African Farmers Union (NAFU) and Dr. Mnqobi Edwin Ngidi, a council member of the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) and Chairperson of the Board of the Agri-business Development Agency (ADA).
The death of leaders of this calibre makes the agricultural sector poorer. The industry, and in particular farmers, organized labour and strategists, play a critical role in shaping discourse and strengthening the country's economy and democracy.
May treasured memories be the comfort to their families. Mostly, may God comfort you as you go through this difficult time.
