KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala will tomorrow, 01 June 2021, officially open the state-of-the-art Driver Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) built to service the previously disadvantaged community of Mtubatuba and surrounding areas.
The centre is a one-stop-shop that consists of a motor vehicle registration authority, vehicle testing centre and driver licence testing centre.
The centre will not only bring government services closer to the people, but will also stimulate economic activity around the area and create much needed job opportunities.
The DLTC now provide services that give effect to the Fourth Industrial Revolution which is marked as a digital revolution characterized by a fusion of technologies. The DLTC is equipped with computerised Learners and Driving Licence Systems that have been implemented by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport to improve service delivery and mitigate against the risks of fraudulent and corrupt activities.
During the official opening, the Premier will be joined by MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Ms Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni, Mtubatuba Municipality Mayor Verus Thobelani Ncamphalala and traditional leadership in the area.
Located along Fiddlewood Street in Mtubatuba, the DLTC will operate on weekdays (Monday-Friday) between 08h00-15h00.
Services that will be offered on the day of the official opening will include driver and learner license services, renewal of driving licences and renewal of professional driving permits.
