The Maintenance Act 99 of 1998 intends:
- to restate and amend certain laws relating to maintenance.

- Government Employees Pension Law 1996
- Judicial Matters Amendment Act 104 of 1996
Commencement
- 26 November 1999, excluding Sections 5 and 7(1)(d) (Gazette 20627 of 15 November 1999)
- 1 November 2006, Sections 5, 7(1)(d), 7(2) c) to (f) and 7(2)(b) only in so far it relates to the service of process of any maintenance court (Gazette 29343 of 31 October 2006)
