The Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams wishes to convey a message of support to the family of Botlenyana Mokhele, the late former councillor of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).
Mokhele, who passed away on Thursday, joined ICASA as a councillor in 2016 and left the institution three months ago, after her four-year term expired. During her tenure Mokhele chaired a number of regulatory projects including Policy, Research & Analysis, Licensing as well as Engineering & Technology.
“She made an impactful contribution in the sector. As the Ministry we take pride in the contribution she made towards building a formidable regulatory institution that is at the forefront of the country’s digital transformation project.”
“We wish her family strength during this difficult time and may her soul rest in peace,” said Ndabeni-Abrahams.
