Minister of State Security, Mr David Mahlobo, MP, is in Angola as part of the South African government delegation attending the Third Joint International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICLGR) -SADC Ministerial meeting and the Tripartite mechanism between South Africa and Angola. The meetings are scheduled for 20-23 October 2014.
The meeting is a follow-up to the recent heads of states meeting held earlier in August 2014.
South Africa is a signatory to the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework for the DRC and is a member of the Regional Oversight Mechanism, as well as a major troop contributing country. South Africa supports the efforts of the ICLGR to seek a lasting political solution in the Great Lakes region in line with our foreign policy which promotes peaceful resolutions and discourages unconstitutional changes of governments.
