Gauteng Health delivers 10 babies on Christmas

More than 100 babies born in Gauteng Hospitals

The arrival of a new baby is the beginning of joy for most families. This joy is multiplied when the baby arrives on Christmas day. 108 babies were born in 16 hospitals in the province.

By midday on Christmas Day:

1. Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital delivered 4 babies (3 girls and 1 boy).  The first baby was born at 02h28
2. Leratong Hospital delivered 7 babies (3 boys and 4 girls). The first baby was born at 01h55
3. Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital delivered 11 babies (5 girls and 6 boys).  The first baby was born at 00h13
4. Mamelodi Hospital delivered 14 babies (5 girls and nine boys).  The first baby was born at 01h10
5. Bertha Gxowa Hospital delivered 3 babies ( 2 girls and one boy).  The first baby was born at 03h20
6. Kalafong Hospital delivered 11 babies .The first baby was born at 00h16
7. Kopanong Hospital delivered 2 babies (two girls).  The first baby was born at 02h10
8. Sebokeng Hospital delivered 8 babies (3 girls and 5 boys).  The first baby was born at 01h05
9. Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital delivered 14 babies (6 girls and 8 boys).  The first baby was born at 0h00
10. Jubilee Hospital delivered 5 babies (3 girls and 2 boys).  The first baby was born at 01h10
11. Yusuf Dadoo Hospital delivered 6 babies (3 girls and 3 boys).  The first baby was born at 00h10.
12. Tembisa Hospital delivered 3 babies (1 girl and 2 boys).  The first baby was born at 00h50
13. Carltonville Hospital delivered 2 babies (2 girls).  The first baby was born at 00h12
14. Pholosong Hospital delivered 2 babies (2 boys).  The first baby was born at 02h50
15. Far East Rand Hospital delivered 5 babies. The first baby was born at 00h30
16. Tambo Memorial Hospital delivered 11 babies. The first baby was born at 01h50
