Deputy President meets with traditional leaders

The Deputy President, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, will tomorrow, 29 November
2006, meet with the National House of Traditional Leaders, at the Union
Buildings, to brief them on the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative for
South Africa (AsgiSA).

Traditional leaders are an important part of our society especially because
they deal with most of the rural-based people, who in most, cases experience
the worst forms of poverty. The Deputy President will brief them in order to
ensure that the growth gets shared at all levels and all South Africans have an
opportunity to share in the economy, as intended by AsgiSA.

Members of the media are invited for a photo opportunity at the beginning of
the meeting scheduled as follows.
