ICASA holds public hearing for the review of Community Sound
Broadcast Policy

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) invites the
public, the media and interested stakeholders to attend public hearings on the
review of Community Sound Broadcasting Policy.

On 20 September 2005, ICASA published a Discussion Paper on the review of
Community Sound Broadcasting. By the closing date for comment, 31 October 2005,
ICASA received 11 submissions and seven of the submitters have indicated their
wish to make oral presentations.

The review is aimed at growing and sustaining the community sound
broadcasting sector.
