Mineral Resources Minister Advocate Ngoako Ramatlhodi has congratulated Daphne Mashile-Nkosi, chairperson of Kalagadi Manganese, for winning “Africa’s
Mine and Metals Deal of The Year 2014” at an awards ceremony held in London yesterday.
Kalagadi Manganese was recognised as the best infrastructure deal for 2014 in Africa at the annual IJ Global Europe & Africa Awards 2014. “We are proud that she is flying the South African flag high on the global stage, and hope that her achievements will continue to inspire greater participation by women in the mining industry,” Minister Ramatlhodi said.
“Through tools such as the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act and the Mining Charter, Government will continue to ensure that the mining industry contributes meaningfully to the radical transformation of the South African economy,” the Minister said.
