Limpopo learners to represent South Africa in Sweden
The Member of the Executive Committee for Limpopo Department of Education, Hon. Ishmael Kgetjepe will be sending off three learners to Sweden this month. This follows them winning of the annual South African Youth Water Prize recently. This event is with the support of the Department of Water and Sanitation and Lepelle Waters. These winners will represent South Africa during Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) in Stockholm where they will compete with learners from more than 30 countries.
This is not the first time Limpopo tops in this competition, last year the province sent a group from Taxila School in Polokwane. Last year, Taxila learners became part of the top ten winners in this annual water engineering related competition.
Mashele Mmabatho Camilla, Makhumbila Hlengi Hulani and Nukeri Hlonipho Edgar, all from Mathlari High School, Shikwambani Village in Mopani District got position one in SJWP competition in Gauteng. They are expected to be in Sweden from 22 until 29 August 2015. These students will show the whole world how they use cellular phone to control water flow system.
