Deputy Minister of Basic Education and KZN MEC of Education to conduct monitoring and oversight visits in Pietermaritzburg
The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Dr. Reginah Mhaule will on Wednesday, 19 January 2022 join the Kwazulu Natal Province MEC for Education Mr. Kwazi Mshengu to conduct monitoring and oversight visits in Pietermaritzburg schools as coastal provinces return to class. The schools to be visited are Izwilesizwe Primary School and Georgetown High School in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu Natal.
The oversight visits come as the sector is getting ready to welcome back learners for the commencement of the 2022 Academic Calendar and with the sector having already welcomed back School Management Teams (SMTs) and Teachers to schools.
During her visits to the school the Deputy Minister will also drive home the message of compliance to the Covid-19 protocols to ensure the safety of both learners and teachers as they prepare to return to schools in 2022.
