Acting Premier Rosho joins MEC Moiloa to launch ‘Monna Emelela’ GBV combat programme in Ventersdorp
Mahikeng: The North West Acting Premier Ms Motlalepula Rosho will tomorrow, Tuesday 31 August 2021 join the MEC for Social Development Ms Boitumelo Moiloa in launching the ‘Monna Emelela’ GBV combat programme in Boikhutso village in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District. The launch is part of the activities planned to observe Women’s month which is commemorated under the theme: “The year of Charlotte Maxeke: Realising Women’s equality”.
The aim of Monna Emelela programme is to encourage men to stand up and act against gender-based violence, to seek professional help when necessary and make a difference in their communities. About 100 men including LGBTIQ+ community from Tshing township, Maquassi Hills, JB Marks, Boikhutso village and the surrounding areas will attend the launch of ‘Monna Emelela’ programme.
Led by the Acting Premier and Social Development MEC, stakeholders which include SAPS, the chairperson of North West Men Sector, representatives from the business sector, Banna ba kae, Banna buang, Men for Real organisations and Tlokwe crisis centre will conduct a door to door campaign at Boikhutso village and Tshing Township at 8h00, followed by a procession of the motorcade at 10h30 through Boikhutso village to the local community care centre where the launch of ‘Monna Emelela programme will be held.
The launch is scheduled to take place as follows:

- Activity 2: Awareness of GBV through motorcade at Boikhutso village at 10h30am
- Activity 3: Launch of Monna Emelela programme at Boikhutso community care centre at 11h00am
