Minister Nathi Mthethwa hosts special consultative meeting on transformation of heritage landscape, 17 Apr

Arts and Culture Minister, Nathi Mthethwa will host a special consultative meeting with political parties, student leaders, university VCs, academics and civil society organisations on transformation of heritage landscape on Friday, 17 April 2015 at Freedom Park. At least 200 guests are expected to attend.

This purpose of this meeting is to chart the way forward on what needs to be done with all colonial statues in the country. "The narrative must move beyond statues as this matter is about stumbling blocks to nation building. We must use the existing legislation to guide us in transforming the heritage landscape of our country," said Mthethwa.
