(SADC), President Kgalema Motlanthe today, Saturday 7 March 2009, conveyed the
condolences of the government and people of South Africa, SADC as well as on
his own behalf, to the government and people of Zimbabwe following the death of
Susan Tsvangirai, the wife of Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
In a message of support to President Robert Mugabe, President Motlanthe said
"Please convey your Excellency on behalf of the government and people of South
Africa and SADC our heartfelt condolences to his Excellency the Prime Minister
Morgan Tsvangirai and his family following the untimely death of his beloved
wife Susan on Friday."
"We know and know too well the pain and sorrow that death has broad to bear
on you personally, the family and indeed the entire Zimbabwe nation," continued
President Motlanthe.
"Yet as you mourn the death of your beloved wife Susan, please be assured of
the unwavering and moral support of the government and people of South Africa
as well as SADC during this hour of need and bereavement," concluded President
Motlanthe.
