The Police Second Amendment Act 118 of 1992 intends:

  • to amend the Police Act, 1958 [repealed in 1995], so as to prohibit members of the Reserve Police Force, only while serving in the Force, to take part in the activities of political parties or any other movements, organizations, bodies or associations with political objects, and to prohibit a member of Parliament from performing service in the Force as a member of the Reserve Police Force or Police Reserve; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
