Labour hosts career exhibition and work seeker registration drive in Verkeerdevlei, 21 Jul

Public Employment Services hosts career exhibition and work-seeker registration drive

The Department of Labour’s Public Employment Services (PES) will be hosting career exhibition and work seeker registration drive today, 21st of July 2017. The event will be held from 10:00am at the Community Hall in Verkeerdevlei. The event is aimed at exposing job seekers to different careers within the Department of Labour and those from other stakeholders.

Coupled with this career exhibition will be a robust work-seeker registration drive which is aimed at registering as many work-seekers as possible on the Department of Labour database called Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA).

ESSA is a system which has been developed to register work seekers and work opportunities that have been supplied by employers looking for workers.  ESSA is therefore an automated matching platform where work-seekers are matched with available opportunities.

Public Employment Services (PES) provides the employment services free of charge to members of the public and employers alike.  The PES Bus, which is a mobile office fitted with the necessary technology, will also be utilized to register work-seekers online.

Invited stakeholders include SAPS, ICASA, Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, NPA, NYDA, SANDF, Legal Aid South Africa, SEDA, UOFS, SASSA, Damelin, Nutmus, Labour Net, Protea Books and National Museum to presence career opportunities within their organisations.

All work seekers are therefore requested to bring along their CVs and certified copies of their IDs and qualifications to be registered on the ESSA system.
