The Deputy President, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, will visit a community-based
care centre in the Sekhukhune District Municipality, Limpopo, on Friday, 24
November 2006, at 10h00.
The community visit by the Deputy President is part of the National Youth
Service Programme spearheaded by the National Youth Commission (NYC),
Department of Health, Department of Social Development, Umsobomvu Youth Fund
(UYF) and the National Youth Service Unit.
The project involves young people who deliver services such as
infrastructure development, environmental conservation, a home and
community-based care to the poor.
The programme is implemented throughout the country through provincial and
local governments.
