Deputy President hands over ten houses built by young people in
the National Youth Service (NYS) programme

Deputy President, Ms Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, will on Monday, 23 October,
hand over ten houses built by participants of the NYS programme, at Diepsloot,
north of Johannesburg.

The programme has attracted 200 young people from the communities of Mogale
City and Diepsloot. These young people were provided with an opportunity to
learn technical construction skills related to the community house builder
qualification, business skills and leadership skills with an emphasis on
community service, social justice and social responsibility.

In attendance will be the Deputy President, members of the National Youth
Commission (NYC), Gauteng MEC for Housing, Ms Mokonyane, City of Johannesburg,
and Umsobomvu Youth Fund among others.
