The national Department of Education has been chosen as the overall winner
in this year's Annual Public Sector Reporting Awards.
The Awards were introduced six years ago, by the Southern African Institute
of Government Auditors (Saiga) to recognise the pursuit of excellence in the
annual reports published by all provincial and national departments.
The national Department of Education was chosen as the overall winner with
the highest score of 94,43%. In respect of the financial statements and annual
report for 2005/06, the department was ranked number one in the following
categories: national, overall and consistency.
Education Minister Naledi Pandor will tomorrow, Thursday, 16 August 2007 at
16h00, receive the Annual Public Sector Reporting Award, on behalf of the
Department of Education. Saiga's Executive President Professor Dieter Gloeck
will present the Award to the Minister.
